Festival Overview The Wanaka Mountain Film Festival is a competitive event bringing the best films on mountains and their spirit of adventure from around the world to the alpine village of Wanaka , New Zealand. The festival provides an opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their work, receive merit and win cash prizes. We invite you to submit your film for pre-screening consideration. All films selected as finalists will be screened at our festival in June, 2005.
The theme is: “Adventurous Sports and Lifestyles” . But please be aware subject matter criteria is extremely broad and as long as there is a link with mountains or adventure sports that take place in the hills, remote regions or the poles that's fine (caving, kayaking, white water, base jumping, para gliding etc are all including) You do not have to enter a specific film category as this allows the judges freedom to choose the most appropriate awards.
Festival dates June 3-7 th , 2005
Entry Fees There is no entry fee to enter a film into any category.
Entry Deadlines 15 th April, 2005 (later by special arrangement). Receipt of entries will be acknowledged by e-mail.
Tips for First Timers Make the film short. Better to have 10-15 minutes of great footage, than to loose your audience with 40-50 minutes of average footage.
